Recently the national media picked on the fact that most of Britain supermarkets are selling meat prepared by Halal slaughtering. This is due to more profit available in the Halal process than conventional British meat processing. Halal slaughtering is one stage process while conventional British processing involves two stages. But Islam and Halal slaughtering was made an escape goat to blame for the supermarket’s secret profit war. This was highlighted and discussed as part of the presentation on Islamic concepts and misconception in the Festival of Faiths.
